I have just upgraded to version 6 Professional and my Text Expander phrases no longer apply any characters or strings I have specified in the Before and After fields in the Output Format dialog. This was working fine in version 5.17, which I had installed prior to the upgrade.

Is anyone else seeing this behaviour ?.

I tried and it works for me, it must be something else.

I thought that must be the case, as no one else had reported it.
Well it looks as if I have a bit detective work to do and find out what's conflicting with FastKeys.

Thank you for the reply.

Ok, I have found the problem, Fastkeys was conflicting with a clipboard utility 'RainClip'.
Two solution's, either exit and stop using RainClip or enter RainClip's settings and delete Fastkeys from
the list of displayed applications.

Ok an update, I was wrong about 'Rainclip' conflicting with Fastkeys. I have since found out that the only way to get this working correctly
is to run Fastkeys, then immediately exit it, then re-run Fastkeys and everything works as expected.

I need to do this every reboot of my PC.

I tested it again on three computers without any issue. Can you list exact steps how to reproduce it?

hello Tom and thank you for the reply.

For a very simple example, I'll create the following Text Expansion

I have deposited %Input_Amount%

The manual input is set to input format None and Output format should insert a £ character before.
So that if I enter 100 in the input field it would result in "I have deposited £100".

when triggered the preview correctly displays "I have deposited £100" but the actual output is "I have deposited 100".

Now if I exit and shut down Fastkeys, then restart it, I do receive the correct output.

I have systematically closed all running apps one by one while testing this, in an attempt to find any conflict.
I thought I had found it with Rainclip, but it was due to me closing Fastkeys and restarting it at the same time.

Thanks, I confirm. This is a bug when the preview is turned on. We will resolve with a next update.

Anyway, in your case you can also do
I have deposited £%INPUT_Amount%.
