Hi,
a couple of years ago i got this solution to make text italic in Text Expander:
"
Post by Marko » Mon Jul 31, 2017 3:09 pm
- create Text Expander module
- press "New" to create a new item
- set String to "bv"
- set Type to "Send"
- set Substitute to "^iB. vulgaris^i"
- press OK and then Save.
:) "

> However, that does not seem to work any longer? i only get the text itself "^iB. vulgaris^i" into the document....

> Alternatively, i can do it in html with the <i> </i> before and after the text to be italizised - the text is then italizised as wanted, but the italics are not turned off after my text which is what i want; thus, the </i> is not interpreted ?.
If I then add a letter after the </i>, e.g. "<i>text</i> L" , and the italics are turned of and the "L" i non-italizised as wanted (except i dont want an L after my text). I thought that i could then remove the "L" by "delete ending char" - but then the "L" is not deleted...

Can you help me with this small puzzle? Thanks in advance!

You just need to enable special characters in Preferences/Text Expander.
