We can implement * suffix instead of prefix. Typing "java*" would show all strings and descriptions containing word "java".
That would work very well for me.

It's very similar to “Include words containing the string” in functionality but the user can control exactly when to use it.

Thanks for considering it.

This was implemented in v3.17. Please let me know how it works for you.

Sorry for the late reply. I could test it properly only today.

The option doesn't seem to work for me.

If I uncheck “Include words containing the string” and check only “Include descriptions” the expected behavior (search descriptions only after suffix is typed) does not occur.

If I type “java*” nothing happens.

If I check both “Include words containing the string” and “Include descriptions”, the menu appears as soon as I type “java”, even before the suffix (*).

I don't know exactly how the feature was implemented so maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Thank you.

This feature should only work when "Include similar words (smart search)" is disabled. Can you please verify?

I tested it again and it doesn't work here (even version 3.18). I tried several configurations options. I will test it in another computer just in case there's something installed here interfering with Fastkeys.
