I'm using Excel 2016 on a Dell XPS 13.

When FastKeys is turned on, I notice that the CTRL + ALT + V shortcut does not activate the normal Excel paste special command.

I tried changing the Clipboard Manager shortcut to CTRL + WIN + V... that did not work

I tried changing the "Not active in" from "Excel" to "ahk_class XLMAIN" ... that did not work
(suggested in post:clipboard-capacity-t262.html)

When I pause FastKeys, the CTRL + ALT + V shortcut works normally in Excel.

What else can I try to allow normal functioning of the Excel shortcut when FastKeys is active?

Changing Clipboard Manager shortcut should work. You can also try disabling Clipboard Manager by deleting a shortcut or setting Clipboard history size to 0. Please let me know if this helps.

Hi Marko - thanks for replying.

I tried each suggestion. None of them worked. Here are my steps:

// Change Clipboard Manager shortcut
- I changed the shortcut from CTRL + ALT + V to CTRL + ALT + L
- I tested in Visual Code Studio and the Clipboard Manager shortcut worked
- When I went into Excel and tried using CTRL + ALT + V to do paste special...
- ... nothing happened

// Disable Clipboard Manager by deleting shortcut
- I deleted the shortcut
- I reloaded FastKeys and restarted Excel
- The Clipboard Manager did not run (as expected after deleting the shortcut)
- ... However the CTRL + ALT + V shortcut in Excel still did not work

// Disable Clipboard Manager by setting Clipboard History size to 0
- I set the Clipboard History size to 0
- I reloaded FastKeys and restarted Excel
- The Clipboard Manager did not run (as expected after setting history to 0)
- ... However the CTRL + ALT + V shortcut in Excel still did not work

I then tried other things...

// Clipboard Manager in Excel 2016
- I tested the Clipboard Manager in Excel with shortcut set to CTRL + ALT + L
- I changed the Clipboard Manager setting "Not Active In" so that Excel was not excluded
- I reloaded FastKeys and restarted Excel
- I tested the Clipboard Manager in Excel and it worked with the shortcut CTRL + ALT + L
- ... However the CTRL + ALT + V shortcut in Excel still did not work

// Using Word 2016 (worked once)
- I kept Clipboard history to size 0 and no shortcut (to disable it)
- I used the CTRL + ALT + V shortcut to paste special in Word ...
- ... that works!
- I went back to Excel and tried CTRL + ALT + V shortcut to paste special ...
- ... this time it worked in Excel! (I was surprised)

// Second attempt using Word 2016...
- I reset the Clipboard Manager shortcut to CTRL + ALT + V
- I changed Clipboard history to size 8
- This time the CTRL + ALT + V shortcut was blocked in both Word and Excel
- I repeated the exact same steps above to set history to 0 and remove shortcut
- I reloaded FastKeys and restarted Excel and restarted Word
- This time I could not get the CTRL + ALT + V shortcut to work ...
- ... it did not work in Word or Excel!

The only ways I can get the CTRL + ALT + V shortcut in Excel 2016 and Word 2016 to work reliably...
... 1. Pause FastKeys
... 2. Exit FastKeys

It seems that FastKeys somehow inteferes with Excel 2016 and Word 2016.

Wonder if there's anything else you can suggest?

Thanks
Victor

I came up with a temporary workaround... I assigned a shortcut to Pause FastKeys (CTRL + ALT + P)

So whenever I want to use CTRL + ALT + V to Paste Special in Excel...

... I hit the Pause shortcut... then hit it again to reactivate FastKeys

Not perfect but it's OK for my workflow.

Thanks
Victor

BTW Marko thanks for creating FastKeys (it's awesome!)

Thanks Victor, I tried and have no problems in Excel 2012 - changed shortcut to something else and Ctrl-Alt-V opens Paste Special dialog as expected.
